# Wavelength > Hot or cold. Soft or hard. Wizard or...not a wizard? Work together to decide where your clue falls on the spectrum — and win by reading your friends' minds. Wavelength is a mind-reading party game. Originally released as a board game in 2019, it launched as a mobile app in February 2022 and is available free on iOS and Android. ## What is Wavelength? Wavelength is a cooperative party game for 2-10 players. Each round, one player (the Psychic) sees a hidden target on a spectrum between two opposing concepts (e.g., "Hot - Cold", "Overrated - Underrated"). The Psychic gives a single clue, and their teammates discuss and turn a dial to guess where the target is. The closer they get, the more points the team scores. It's 100% cooperative — you win or lose together. ## History Wavelength was originally designed by Alex Hague, Justin Vickers, and Wolfgang Warsch, and published as a tabletop board game in 2019 by CMYK Games. It sold over 150,000 copies, was translated into 14+ languages, and was named the Best Party Game of 2019 by The Dice Tower. When the pandemic hit in early 2020, Casey Pugh approached Alex Hague about turning Wavelength into a digital game so people could play remotely. Kristen Leach later joined the team to design the app. After over 14,000 beta testers and a year and a half of development, the Wavelength app launched in February 2022. ## Key Facts - **Price:** Free to play, no ads.
